Which compounds to investigate?

Atlantic Analytical is an analytical testing laboratory specializing in volatile and non-volatile impurities. We are not in the drug manufacturing business.

We are compiling a database of compounds that the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry uses when synthesizing products. We’re looking to identify which chemical entities might be considered genotoxic, which are known to be genotoxic, and what are common alkylating agents and mesylates so that we can develop methods to easily identify and quantitate these compounds below the EMEA’s current threshold of 1.5 ppm.

Compounds we are currently investigating include dimethyl sulfate, ethyl acrylate, esters of various methanesulfonates, and benzyl bromide to name a few.
